2008 g8 gt
Taken with a Nikon D40, pics are post-processed in Lightroom 2. So they look a little better than they did straight off the camera, but whatever Im an amateur and have a better knack for processing than I do taking the pics lol. This was my first time out with the car for photos, took them back in Sept and havent had a chance since then to go anywhere else. Now I gotta wait all winter until I can get back out in the spring

Nice composition on the shots.
Don't be afraid of blacks lol I see alot of grain in the shots like you bumped up the exposure in Lr. Try taking slightly overexposed pics then dropping it down in post. I think the last shot has alot of potential if you wanted to play with it awhile! Do you shoot in raw? Great work! |

Yeah they are kinda overprocessed a bit, I'm still learning how to get optimum lighting, and in that last one the front end was kinda dark so I bumped up the fill light a bunch if I remember correctly. That was one of those shots where a good strobe and soft box combo would have been great to have to expose the front of the car better, since the background was washed out with sunlight. It also doesnt help that Im processing these on my Gateway laptop, which apparently has a way brighter screen than what everyone else is looking at. Im hoping to get a nice LCD sometime soon that can let me more accurately process my photos.
Oh and yeah I shoot exclusively RAW. I shot JPEG for maybe 2-3 days after I got the camera and was using CaptureNX for processing, but then I "found" LR2 and learned how to use that, and holy crap is it so much better from both an editing and workflow standpoint. After I started using that, I havent turned back to JPEG or Capture. EDIT: I uploaded the picture as it came off the camera just for reference, this is with no adjustments, just compressed 75% out of LR for uploading

Man that car is sexy....Great shots.
Try turning the wheel in different positions...for me, when a tire is pointing away, it makes the car seem less aggressive.

Nothing wrong with being different, but imo looking at the tread of a tire is terrible! You end up seeing more inside of the fenderwell and it just breaks the lines... maybe if you are advertising tires, otherwise, keep em like you got em! |

Thanks CJ, it is a good looking sedan, for what it is. I think Holden and Pontiac did a good job on Americanizing it
![]() Tire angles, personally I have never been a fan of tires pointing at the camera. I think it looks terrible as Bandy said, it just breaks up everything and kinda cheapens the picture. Just my personal taste though ![]() I figured I'd toss in a few more, I kinda like these ones too ![]() ![]() This one I used the adjustment brush to darken the sky a bunch for an HDR feel
