Zero-degrees

The guys and gals at M3Post seemed to enjoy this picture of my 2009 M3. It was 0F, headed down to -16F. I'd been out taking pictures of wildlife and was walking back to my car at the end of the day. I couldn't resist this picture of the M3 after a day of fun in the snow:

Shot with my Canon 5D MkII with the EF 24-105mm f4L IS lens, in aperture priority mode, set at f4 and ISO 800 and 0-EV, resulting in 1/500-sec, handheld.

Same lens an camera with the lens at 60mm, aperture priority, f4, ISO 200 with -1/3EV, resulting in 1/100-sec.

Here's a glamour shot:

Taken with my Canon 7D with the EF 400mm f53.6L mounted, aperture priority set at f8 and ISO 800 with -1EV, resulting in 1/2000-sec, hand held.

Yes indeed. I love the 7D for nature, where the 1.6-crop and 8-fps and faster AF comes in handy, but the 5D2 is hard to beat an image that pops and is tack-sharp, even at 100% mag.

Shooting birds. I didn't reset and just grabbed this shot as I walked back to the car. Most nature photographers control shutter speed via ISO and aperture.

Here are a couple of shots that I took within minutes of the car image:
