2010 Formula Drift Saturday:Competition

Once Again I would Like to thank you all for looking,
This album is roughly 100+ fotos, the rest may be seen
@http://pointnshootphotography.zenfolio.com/p917065461

I was so excited coming home from Test and Tune Day
2010 Formula Drift Friday:Test and Tune - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com
that I couldnt stop thinking about the day that counts
when trying to make frome nice to stunning images..
I met up with my friends and finally rolled out and had a cool cruise
on our way there.

Once Arrived, I just rushed Right in, because I wanted to make sure
to get more statics than just a portfolio of panning shots.
As I was heading back to media tent to get a media vest for day 2,
Infont the the tent the sponsors closed off a lil section for the Fatlace.com
guys,

Really clean JDM's, very Euro like..

and a Euro..

Drift Performance was going over the final touches on the
infiniti's which are powered by 5.7 Nissan Titan Motors
with superchargers as Forced Induction as they were just 1:30 away
for top 32 to begin..

The sun was pretty strong that morning, the e60 is not really
flat black, but more like matte Diesel Green..

Falken Paddok

Me wondering around the show led me to come
across these grandfathers..

Joon Meang Advertising his new restaurant, too bad he didnt make
qualifying, very humble and good driver..

Onto the next one, or few

Tyler Mcquarrie getting ready to go into the battle of the 32

Darren Mcnamara's tires getting depleted

Darren Mcnamara is the fuking man by the way,
I wished this guy mad luck..

Falken Girl Casie

I was chilling at the starting pad, as car after car, entered
and engaged into cutthroat racing..

After waiting for 30 min, I finally got myself into the track,
for all up in the action..

few races later, Rhys Millens Redbull Genesis balljoint come off,
resulting him in spin out and putting him out of the competition..

By the way, tracks Tow Truck drivers are a bunch of rookies,
I couldve been teaching lessons out there..

And here comes Vaugh Gittin Jr. in a 2700lb
5.0 GT supercharged with 650hp, ye thats nuts..

Chris Forsberg doing his thing as always..

Saw this cutie giving out Hankook stuff,

Sickest Drifter ever

Final 16 ceremony

And we are off, literally, Stephan Verdier off this turn,
loses his Passernger rear wheel, which puts him as a DNF

Sad but true

He couldnt believe it himself, after he was doing it better this year
than last..

D-Mac swooping in..

Both repping Team Falken, Vaugh Gittin VS Justin Pawlak
are Knifing each other for this win..

Tanner Foust, happy as hell to advance to the battle for 3rd,
and is going to make sure to secure atleast 3rd..

2010 Miss Formula Drift Melyssa Grace holding the check to 1st place..

Final standings, Daijiro Yoshihara in Nissan S15 takes 1st,
Vaughn Gittin in Monster Energy Mustang takes 2nd, and
Tanner Foust wraps up with 3rd..

Vaughn Posing for his sponsors,

Last but not least, I conclude my coverage..

Awesome captures man! Looks like a lot of action. I'd love to go to an event like this. Alas, I live in podunk South Dakota, and the closest we get is the local autocross events. *sigh*

I'll have to check out your site. What kind of gear do you shoot with? I cant believe how incredibly crisp some of your shots are! Must be the glass!

Nice, man. Any kind of filters? Or did you just stop some of them down in-camera or in ACR or something? Reason I ask, is because you can tell its pretty much in the middle of the day, yet they don't seem to be horribly over-exposed...

Also, your link isn't working...gives me a 404...

for panning I had and the horrid sun I used Neutral Density 0.6,
and I shoot raw, so I save diff kind jpegs some lil overexposed,
some under exposed, and layer mask them, so I have
underexposed jpegs for shadows, and over for details..
On average the under exposed jpegs I get from raw I use for clouds,
and skies..
good call, fixing link right now..
