30 inches of snow with 50+mph wind for 72 hrs. some places got up to 44 inches.

this ones kinda crappy, took it w/ my p&s, didnt want to take the d5k out in the blowing snow.

You said SD blizzard and I thought a truck full of cocaine must have tipped over at the Mexican border.

I forgot you are in the other SD.

That is a crazy amount of blow in your neighborhood.

Man thats nuts. I love the mountain of snow going up the back of the house, pretty insane!

On a technical note, were you using a CP or ND filter to get those skies so blue? That's some awesome color and contrast you captured there.

nope, no filters. just a uv. but it was midday so i was shootin at like 1/2000 just to be able to get the snow so its not blown out, blue skys were just a lucky byproduct. and actually, i think i cropped one of them, and other than that i didnt pp a single one of them.

I am uploading some picture here. Most are prestorm phots. I haven't touched these or gone through sorted them. We ended up with ~20in in my area. I was snowed in to my house for 3 full days.. Damn I had cabin fever!

We finally have blue sky here today YEA!! but I won't be home from work till after dark.

You know my favorite is the truck with the blowing snow. Even though it is a "crappy" picture noise etc.. The dog on the snow bank and also the lightpole pictures are also good.

The clean up ones i am not a huge fan off but really thats all you could get because you weren't going to venture out to far during the heart of the storm. I took my wife's olympus 1030SW out with me so I didn't have to worry about the cold or moisture..

I am glad that this storm is over with. Now hopefully tonight I can finally get the wifes car home.

thanks rusher for the link, and thanks badger for the idea! i did submit some of them, and i got an email asking me to call a producer i guess? so i did and he got a bunch more info from me and he was going to fwd all of it to his boss and see if they wanted to do anything with it. kinda exciting

i dunno if that is just procedure, or if they just do that for select stuff.

kinda doubt it. BUT, if i go for a job later on after grad one of my accomplishments i can put on my resume' is i have had some photo's on the front page of cnn's website or something to that effect (depending on where they stick them). *shrugs* im more about getting stuff out than making money at the moment, that will come in time i assume.

but i did mention i was a photo student, and i did mention i got the idea from my AUTOPHOTOG buddies, so hopefully i got some good PR for the site lol. the guy i talked did tell me to thank the forum and whoever it was for the idea.

Nice... I've submitted some stuff to them before and never gotten a "call back" though I have a few friends who they didn't call back but published on a specific page (not the front).

I think had you submitted them that day or the day after it happened you'd have gotten them up right away but right now it seems like maybe its old news. Hopefully they'll have a follow up story on it or something and can use your stuff though.

Let us know what happens!
