Hi,
Hi, my name is Jackson, and I'm a complete noob to photography beyond p&s.
I just picked up a Canon Digital Rebel model DS6041 with a EFS 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 and a EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 for $200 bucks at a pawnshop. It's an old school camera, but should be perfect for me to learn on until I can afford something better. Any advice for someone just starting out? Hey Jackson, welcome to the forums.
I would totally recommend this book for any noob looking to learn a few things... it helped me a lot and still does today. I keep it with me in my camera bag for ideas/inspiration. Amazon.com: Photo Idea Index (9781581807660): Jim Krause: Books
