New lens!! Nikkor 17-35 f2.8 plus some B+W filters - AutoPhotog : Photo Enthusiasts/Pros Forum

Well, today I stopped by the local photography shack (Glazer's Camera in this case) and noticed they had a very nice Nikkor 17-35 in the used case. $1,400 plus tax. Hmmmm, that's a bit of coin. "But wait, we are having a sale! All used camera gear is 10% off."

Well heck, who am I to pass up a sale!

So I decided to buy the lens after trying it out. At another local shop (Kenmore Camera), they also had a 17-35 available at $1,300, but it was pretty beat up and the AF-S motor squeaked. No thanks!

Being a good saleswoman, the person helping me asked "Do you need any filters? We might even have some good used ones...." Whatcha got? "How about a B+W 77mm circular polarizer for $70 minus 10%?" SOLD! I also picked up a B+W 77mm UV/Haze filter too for $66 (brand new.)

I then proceeded to escape with my wallet severely damaged, but not completely destroyed.

Haven't had a chance to really give it a good work out though.....

Let me know how you like the lens! I don't have that range, and it seems to be a good option.
