1) I love this one the most of the bunch, and I imagine theres a reason you listed it first too ...the DOF and the colors are fantastic
2) looks like it could be in Metal Gear solid...where's snake?
3) Love the colors, really beautiful spot you found, I think the only gripe I have is the centered in focus tree, its a bland subject when you have such beautiful leaves/scene in general
4) great variety in colors, but I think it lacks a little focus?
5) much better pic of those trees because I feel like it really gives a feeling of the height with the angle you got. great perspective on a beautiful locale

The first is my favorite. I like the compositions, colors, and DOF. Heard that about the third one. Tend to agree. Was going for this kind of effect from Ansel although the trees aren't laid out in the same pattern and proximity so it didn't turn out nearly as well, among other reasons.

Thanks for the comments. Anyone else feel free to rip them apart.

I think they look great, however I also think you were shooting too tight. I would love to have seen these same shots with a wide angle lens (like 20-30mm) for more of a size comparison feeling... show me how large the forest is, THEN show me a few details like the close ups you have.

I also think #3 needs some work on the placement of the tree, dead center was always a big no no in my photo classes.

^+1 I think the last two pics would have been a lot better if it was wider.

Photo 1 is amazing, love the DOF.
