Contest Photo 2
Theme is "Beauty in the mundane"
The photo has to be of something very common and I guess ordinarily overlooked. Wondering what you all thought of this photo as I'm thinking of possibly submitting it (the original is underneath it FYI).

yeah sorry. lol.
i really liked the concept. i like simple, and this is very much something i am drawn to, the only reason i didnt go 5 on it. is to me, imho, there is to much out of focus area, its stressful to look at almost. i think maybe if you could crop out most of the bottom and just leave very little out of focus it would get it there. actually the more i look at them the more i like the second one. the color anyway, feels warmer to me. just that out of focusness...... i hope this helps a little bit. again, i really like the concept and w/ a few changes DEF something i would hang on my wall. same goes for the second. except on the left where it falls out of focus, i dunno, it seems unusally blurry, even for something out of focus, the line where its focused and unfocust is really harsh.

I'll play with some crops though, I see what you mean. You liked the warmer color though? I kinda thought the b&w was a bit more crisp and clean looking. how does this crop look?

yeah, to me that is much nicer to look at.
i liked the warm, but i used to work in a restaraunt and the image of stacked plates reminded me of when they come fresh out of the dishwash and are nice and warm. i just associate it more with past experience i guess.

I like the second crop better, because of reasons FBG stated as well...I like the framing too...I personally like the cool colors because it is more sterile for me.

Second one is much better but for some reason I can't vote.
Guess i am not good enough which is probably true. I am not a fan of the first one to much of it is out of focus in my opinion. Second one looks proportionally better. |
