Fat Buff Guy is on a distinguished road
focal length is 55mm, aperature is F5.6, exposure is 1/10 sec (was sitting on the counter). its is just barely cropped so the teacandle pretty much fills the screen as you see it.

and the candles in the background are.....about 2 1/2 feet behing the candle in the foreground. i pretty much relied on focal length for this one, not aperature, cause i dont haz good enough lens :(

that looks good, can you shoot any lower than f/5.6? you'll get a hell of a lot more bokeh if you drop below f/4.

yeah, all i have is the kit lens for the d5k, and at 35mm, it goes to f/3.5 but i actually got less bokeh than when i used focal length.

i actually got the idea to do it that way cause of this picture




and this one is at f/8

thats not bad... but i think if you want max bokeh try shooting at 3.5, as far zoomed in as it will let you, and get as close to the subject as you can without needed a macro to focus.

the shot of the berries is really good, especially at f/8
