2 seasons too late!

Seriously though....

Technically, a pretty good shot. But it doesn't do anything for me on an emotional level. I just see a picture of a decaying leaf. It doesn't bring me back to fall foliage, and I wonder "why did you make a photo of that?" I'd say "Neat", then move on and completely forget about it in a few seconds.

And I've got a pile of those kind of pictures in my portfolio, so I'm an expert on forgettable shots!

lmao, thanks for the comments scott.

i dont have access to a strobe very often so i was more or less just playing around with it, looking for things to shoot. this leaf has been in our hallway for the better part of three months, just sitting there drying up.

so while this does nothing on a screen, i actually printed it out and had it framed and it changes it emensly. i like it not because its an unforgetable shot, but more or less i feel like i learned something and had a success with my buddies alien bee.

but the wifey loves it :D in the end thats all that really matters lol.

Then it connects to you on an emotional level, so therefore a very successful shot! And a learning experience too with regards to strobes.

i tried it w/ a gridspot instead of a softbox this time. i really dig the flow of the shadow and the more brutal shadows on the leaf.
