...ive spent equal amounts of time at sdsmt and bh, im a transfer student. i know how it is. and good decent people (at least when i was there) were far and few. it is a great school. i will give you that. BUT i am willing to bet from what i seen when i was there 95% of the students wouldnt know what to do at a liberal arts school. im not amazing, but i took every art class tech had to offer and i was above and beyond anyone in my classes.

i to tagged a bh girl. bwhahaha, and ive been dating her for 5 years.

Yea the art at tech is a joke..

I took like drawing and painting 1 and got like a D because the teacher (not professor) knew I didn't really give a damn...

When I turned in my final project something I actually cared about and it was really good she wasn't very happy with me and found the effort I spent on the rest of her class was lacking.. Lets see spending 20 hrs a week on drawing or Thermal Dynamics. I think the A in thermal was worth the D in art...

I would say that the general student population at SDSM&T would greatly benefit with being forced to take more "art classes" because frankly a good designer needs an Eye for astetics..

agreed. the problem doesnt lie with classes. i thought the classes were good, and the proffesor they have now is great, i still chat with her from time to time. The hard part is making people bread with and engineering brain to wrap their minds around something artistic, and than be able to express it. ive seen it again and again, they struggle with that concept more than they do with calc three or thermo. or upper level classes.

and blah blah blah, we all know engineers make more money than artists, at least the average students from bh and tech. but i dunno, all the engineers that i know that have graduated all hate their jobs, are single, aaaaaaaand they still do nothing but play wow in their down time.

and.....tech had better pull something out of there ass, ten years down the road. ****s gonna be way diff that it is now, BH has a new science building going up, and its gonna be nuts. BH is working pretty closely with the duesil lab scientists. and i think its the event thats gonna put bhsu on the map as far as the math and science is concerned.
