P+S recommendations?

Looking for something in the sub-300 dollar range. Prefer something compact, easy to use (will most often be in the auto function IF manual settings is even an option), long battery life. Don't need anything fancy, just something that capture decent pictures in low light settings. Any suggestions?

if youre willing to stretch the budget to 450:

Panasonic LX3K
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...Panasonic LX3K

it has a F2.0 lens and does wide angle shots and vid...it has the fastest lens of the compact camera bunch, but does not zoom as far (its drawback). this would be best for low light conditions. it is a 10.1 mp cam (good iso performance..ie...light sensitivity, or in other words...less grain in low light)

at a price of ~329:

Panasonic LX150K

its a bit slower F2.8, but has a better range and also does video, and its 14.7 mp

at a price of ~309:

panasonic fx580k
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...&creative=9325

also has a 2.8 lens, but is 12.1 mp in comparison to the above model

Honestly I love my Sony Cybershot... Has good glass and is pretty expandable... Has a wide angle lens and other accessories...

I started with a P&S and I still use it everyday!

+1 on the Sony Cybershot

I have the DSC-T10 (like 3 yrs old). VERY easy to use and great quality. Just DON'T SIT ON IT, $149.99 for a new screen. Too many that night.

Canon Powershot always was a great camera of mine to have when you don't wanna lug your gear around.

Canon's SD series is very good for a cheap P&S. They are also very small and fit in the pocket easily.

The Canon Powershot 780IS is about $200, it's the smallest PS that I know about about. The shots are great and video is HD (720p at 3fps).

i have one and i can def vouch for it. ill post some pictures/video ive taken with it if there is any interest.

its small and VERY durable, which seems to be an issue w/ me and p&s's. has a pretty decent battery life, and the flash.....is retardedly bright. puts some pop up flashes to shame lol.
