How to set up a studio for a portrait [VIDEO]

So I had to set up my studio to do some corporate profiles and it was previously set up for a product shoot I did the day before and I figured what the hell put the 5DMKII up and film it. I forgot it films in 12 minute increments so there is about 30 seconds to a minute missing which is why it jumps a bit.

NOTE: The last part at the end was not my final light set up, it was slighty different, the beauty dish was was boomed above the camera instead of split lighting.

STROBIST:
B800 @ 1/1 through Giant Octabox camera left
B800 @ 3/4 through Beauty Dish slighty above camera and to the right
B800 @ 1/1 through 20 Degree Grid behind subject camera right

MUSIC:
Walker Price - Track 1

Thanks for sharing! I've been thinking about getting some strobes, but I want them to be able to run off batteries too. The B800's can do that with the Vagabond II setup.

Any reason to not get B1600's (other than price)? It seems a good quality lighting setup with 2 to 3 strobes is about the price of one piece of quality glass.

Also, do you use more paper backgrounds, or muslins?

I just got the B800's because of price at the time but will be ordering a couple of B1600's soon. For starting out B800's are just fine and you can run them off the Vagabond like you said and I use seamless paper backgrounds.

Cool. How do you trigger your strobes?

Any thoughts on Buff's new Einstein lights? Starting to get up there in price though, but still below offerings from Bowens or Travelite...

I use pocketwizards, I haven't looked at his new lights but I am sure they are good. Alien Bee stuff can't be beat for the price, plain and simple. It's not always the highest quality stuff (build wise) but it's so cheap and if you take care of it you'll be fine.
